Improving Content Retention in Training and Learning
When building a training module or other learning opportunity, it's a challenge to ensure the content is retained long after the class ends, helping people operate safely and wisely into the future. Knowledge that fades quickly after a final exam or class is over doesn't benefit either the attendees who put in the time to participate or the managers and leaders who support those programs, targeting improvements that benefit individuals and the company. Educators Felicia Bowins, Summer Cozzens, and Hank Mast will discuss how designing multi-modal learning programs can leverage instructional design strategies, bridge learning gaps, and strengthen training for attendees.
Felicia Bowins holds a bachelor's degree in English and Africana Studies and a master's degree in American Studies from the College of William & Mary. She previously served as an educator in Hampton and Newport News, VA. Her passion for education led her to Index AR Solutions where she currently works as a Technical Writer.
Summer Cozzens studied mechanical engineering, music, and English literature at Virginia Tech and has master's degrees in education and literature from Old Dominion University. She taught for Virginia Beach City Public Schools for 13 years where she also enjoyed coaching speech, debate, and creative writing before joining Index AR Solutions as a Technical Writer.
